Ya’ll know at Signed Sealed Delivered Events, we are addicted to love + we ain’t afraid to show it!
Any + all weddings are our fave!
Especially intimate weddings.
Which brings us to Sam + Warren + their most memorable beach nuptials topping out at 52 guests.
While Sam + Warren’s wedding was intentionally small, our current climate has intimate weddings on the rise.
With the dreaded COVID-19 getting in the way of our party plans, many of our couples are choosing to postpone their receptions + host ceremonies with their parents. While others are choosing to stick with a smaller guest count for the whole shebang!
As your wedding fairy godmothers + besties for the resties, we are here to support either decision (while tossing confetti your way)!
Things might feel downright sucky with a lot of ambiguity, but as your trusted wedding resource, we are not going to let this pandemic take away your planning excitement!
It may not be what you originally envisioned, but it’s still going to be your best day ever because you are marrying your boo!
If you are hosting an intimate wedding this year, here is something to keep in mind: You don’t have to skip on the details just because you have a smaller guest count! We can still create a beautiful day no matter the size.
Plus local wedding pros are still open for business + ready to make magic!
Whether you are having a vow renewal next year or this is your official wedding day, you will want this magical moment documented. Have a professional there to capture this special time in your life! We highly recommend a photographer + a videographer!
One other thing you may consider is having your event live streamed so family + friends can tune in as you say I do!
Have you always imagined the bridal march when you walk down the aisle towards your forever? Or a song that reminds you of how you met, or describes your relationship to a T? Then let’s play it! Hire a DJ or musician. Plus depending on how intimate, you may consider a sound system for all your guests to hear.
Don’t forget personal flowers: bouquet, boutineers, corsages plus altar arrangements, we can make that happen.
Have champagne or a signature drink on standby to toast the moments after you say We Do! Or before! Heck, there’s no wrong way to celebrate when it comes to bubbles!
If you opt out of a sit down meal, having hors d’oeuvres or a variety of desserts will make all bellies in attendance happy. There may be some new procedures in place as far as food service goes, but your professional caterer + planner can share those details based on the county where you are getting hitched.
And let’s be real, you definitely need cake. A party without cake is just a meeting.
Don’t skip on the moments either, because remember, we have professional paparazzi coming so you might as well have an album’s worth of photos to remember this amazing day!
Do a first look or a first touch! Exchange cards! Write your vows! Cut your cake! Dance your first dance! Dance with your mom! Dance with your dad! Have sparklers or bubbles! Remember, SSD has the confetti toss covered! HOORAY!
Now that we have all the fun details in place, let’s also talk a bit about keeping your celebration of love a safe + healthy one.
Remember earlier I mentioned the different phases + regulations by county + state. That will come to play again for a few more things:
Check in with your local courthouses on how to obtain a marriage licence during this time. Some may be closed or have limited hours.
Keep in mind there may be social distancing + max guest counts at venues that incorporate the 6 foot rule between seating – this will effect your lay out + guest counts.
When confirming your invite list, be sure to count your vendors as some county regulations require that wedding pros/ staff be included in that guest count max.
Will your guests be wearing masks? It might be a lovely nod to have some available for your guests upon entry + it wouldn’t hurt if they matched your decor. You guys know I couldn’t help myself.
Sanitation stations will be a necessity at all events moving forward as will new cleaning standards for all venues to ensure the healthiest environment possible.
If you are planning on serving refreshments of any kind be prepared for regulations on food presentations. Some venues/caterers may offer plated entrees only. Additionally disposable place settings might be the safest bet for events moving forward.
Please notice my overuse of “may” + “might” throughout this post. It is intentional as guidelines are changing often. Seek the advice of your local government + venue for most up to date regulations.
If you are ready to jump in to plan your wedding, big or small, hollatcha girls at Signed Sealed Delivered Events + we can walk you through every step of the way… holding hands + skipping at some point.
Side note, we joyfully plan destination weddings + are ready to travel! Just say the word!
Malorie and Will. Will and Malorie. There will never be a more genuinely sweet and happy couple. These two met over Halloween weekend at a football game in Michigan. After a night of losing their friends, missing cabs and a long long walk back, they decided the night couldn’t end and alas their relationship began.
After long distance for… Malorie received orders to move to Hawaii (she’s a dentist in the Air Force and the prettiest dentist you will ever meet) so island bound they went. Shortly after they called me.
We planned for 7 months with a 9 hour time difference before this happy couple graced St Louis with their sun kissed tans and oh-so-delighted grins. Meeting Malorie for the first time at her dress fitting was a moment I will cherish forever. I could have cried the minute she walked through the doors of Simply Elegant and we embraced like old friends.
The way Will and Malorie love each other is so touching. It’s a bond of true gratitude, appreciation and connection. To be around their energy is a gift and I couldn’t be more humbled that they shared their gift with me.
Family traveled in from all over (including Chester, Illinois because you know I love my 618 area code folks) to celebrate these two at their heart felt ceremony and reception at Windows on Washington.
After a fabulous meal prepared by WOW and the most decadent cake from Wedding Wonderland, the crowd danced all night to the Charles Glenn Group – literally danced all night. It was the most amazing day and night and it’s everything I could ever hope for a kind-hearted and truly happy couple.
Florals by my favorite Angie of Elegance in Bloom. Wine barrels and arbor rented my Renown Rentals- they have the coolest things!
These gals got gorgeous with Emily Miller Hair and Make Up, all dresses by Simply Elegant.
Our photo crew who I adore more than wedding cake was Kelly Park Photography and our cameraman of the year award goes to Uncle Jeff (because seriously he was there for it all)! And we can’t forget our bridal attendant Ella who not only greeted every guest enthusiastically but documented the entire weekend with a selfie stick. I told her she will always have a spot on the SSD team with that winning personality.
Mariah Design Agency created their invitations and programs and welcome letters.
Their first look was in the courtyard of Union Station DoubleTree.
These darling robes were custom made by the family of fabulous artisans at Local Lucy’s in Belleville, IL.
Here’s mama and papa bear reading their letters that Malorie wrote them.
We were admittedly kinda sad about saying goodbye to 2019 because it was such a good year!!! Amiright!!???!! Just reminiscing on the fun trends that showed up – helllloooo llamas (You’ve most likely seen these at The Venue at Maison du lac), ceiling installments on head tables (like ones that the incredible talent as Roses + Mint produces), customized neon lights, embroidered jackets (have you checked out the Daily Disco?) + the earthy texture of pampas grass! But rest assured friends, these trends will be around for while.
We were thrilled to see classic blue as the 2020 Pantone Color of the year and while something blue usually makes an appearance somewhere on wedding days like getting ready robes, shoes + the groomsmen tuxes, we know blue will be more front + center this year!
Think glass goblets, dresses, silk ribbons … the whole 9 yards …. of luxurious suede linen. Can you just feel it now?
Other trends coming down the pipeline are dried florals incorporated with real flowers. Say what??? True story, designers like Ashley McDonald Florals + Agape are combining the two for some super unique looks + textures + we are here for it!
And you thought you’d never see the day, but we ditched the mason jars + gave baby’s breath a more updated modern look + feel. You will see it in centerpiece hedges, ceiling installations + ceremony statement pieces, just like our girl Mandy Moore rocked at her wedding!
Loads of color! And bold at that! You will see color as a neutral that sets the tone! You know we love the classic white gold + blush look but pops of vibrant color have us giddy for this year’s wedding seasons! Plus color brings a whole new element of personalization!
We will start seeing more nontraditional wedding attire- think contemporary, playful, cropped, jumpsuits, capes + skirts (oh my)! And I’m talking maids too!
Speaking of non-traditional, we also anticipate seeing more couples hiring their favorite local restaurant chefs to add another level of personalization + interaction! Last fall we had Pastaria pizza truck come to one of our weddings + chefs made stone oven pizzas + signature salads! It was a huge hit + dish delish!
One trend that will never go out of style is YOU! Bringing in nods to your relationship makes your event that much more memorable!
Our winter styled shoot at Verde on Cherokee, an urban green house, was featured in the newest issue of Perfect Wedding Guide!
The Main Street Abbey inspired this shoot with its pristine white walls and archways above the original stained glass windows. Coupled with Megan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding this spring and the abundance of tv series portraying the history of royalty, we knew we had to bring our own royal wedding to life in this rehabbed church!
The color palate was an easy one as we wanted to include fresh fruits, desserts and the charcuterie spread as table decoration just like in early modern European feasting tables. Gold vessels of overflowing greenery and white peonies danced along the walls and table accented by citrus and handpainted blue place settings (also mimicked in the gorgeous cake)!
And what royal wedding is complete without a crown and sparkler party?!?
